A new class that brings you back to the roots of Salsa! Our Afro Cuban Body Movements class will teach you how to get down and groove to Afro Cuban rhythms that form the basis of street Salsa. Develop the true flavour of street Salsa and the fluidity of moving your body to the music with Afro Cuban moves. The course will improve flexibility in your body movements as well as control over your body isolations.
Highly recommended for Salseroes y Salseras. Beginners are welcome too!

Salsa on Channel 5 - New beat of 5 |

After two successful episodes on Arts Central, Door To Floor Dance Company performance team made their debut appearance on Channel 5. Mediacorp 5 aired a short music video entitled, "New Beat of 5" to usher in Channel 5 s new look.
Door To Floor is Dance Company honoured to be part of a 20-second Salsa stint, which spiced up the whole music video. The Salsa piece was choreographed by our resident Salsa instructor, Suman and consisted of team members Joyce, Rachel Chan, Meiling, Chris, CK, Krys, Jimmy and Rachel Cheong, who danced alongside celebrities like Pierre Png and Jamie Tan. Catch the celebs trying their hand at some red hot salsa, choreographed and taught by Suman all under an hour!
The music video made its debut on Channel 5’s airwaves in the first week of May 2005. If you’ve missed it, fret not! You can always catch in our Salsa video gallery.

We have just added 2 new courses: Street Latin Fusion & Salsa Latina.
Street Latin Fusion
Street Latin Fusion is a special 7 week course open to beginners who would like to learn a variety of Street Latin dances. The course will cover an introduction to Merengue (1 wk), Bachata (2 wks) & Salsa (4 wks). After this course, you will be able to dance to most genres of music played at Latin clubs!
It is just $120 for 3 different dances, quite a steal if you ask us!
Salsa Latina 1
Learn the art of moving like a Latina!
Salsa Latina is a celebration of femininity. The course will focus mainly on feminine elements of Salsa, such as posture, body movements, elegant arm movements and shines. (Shines are solo footwork in Salsa dancing) This course is suitable for ladies who want to build a sexy and feminine confidence, and gain more fluidity and elegance in their dancing. This will benefit you in any form of dance you do, be it Salsa, Bachata or Cha Cha.
With our five week Salsa Latina course, you will master the sexy and vivacious hip movements that Latinas are known for, in no time at all!
No prior Salsa or Latin dance background is required.
Salsa Latina 2
In Salsa Latina 2, you will learn to incorporate body isolation & arm styling into your dancing. You will also learn even more challenging body movements, which will improve your flexibility and coordination.
Techniques will be implemented through a sexy salsa shine choreography. Basic knowledge of Salsa dance is required (i.e. basic step, left & right turns). Knowledge of basic body isolation is recommended.

Inaugural Philippines Salsa Congress | Dec 05 |

The Door To Floor Performance Team was proud to make their first international Salsa performance at the inaugural Philippines Salsa Congress. The choreography was a refreshing departure from the typical all-Salsa routines. It was conceptualised around the theme of Sex and the City, the popular HBO hit series, making it a truly entertaining performance. The performance was well-received by audiences locally & internationally. The Sex and the City choreography was designed by Door To Floor Dance Company s instructors, Suman & Rachel.

Salsa on Arts Central – “Destination Dance” |

Door to Floor Dance Company s performance team performed a choreography of Salsa and Casino Rueda, designed by resident Sals instructor, Suman. This instalment of Salsa dancing came as the closing finale of the 5-part dance documentary entitled, “Destination Dance”.
This documentary, with a touch of drama, was filmed with the aim of bringing different dance forms to the masses by featuring dances in unconventional settings. The program was aired on March 2005 on Arts Central.

New Class: Afro De Cuba! Working out has never been so fun |

Looking for non-stressful dance class that tones your muscles without even realizing? Then this is the class for you!
We have combined Dunham technique that involves toning and contractions, with the vibrancy of traditional Afro-Cuban dance to give a fun and energetic dance workout. African dance has taken New York City by storm as one of the most popular dance forms that keeps people fit and toned. From the warm up to the class routine, your entire body will be engaged in movement, giving you an effective overall body workout. Dunham technique will focus on stretching and building strength. While Afro Cuban dance will bring out freedom of expression and an opening up of the body to appreciate dance and percussion rhythms.
This is a dance for individuals, no partner is required. No prior dance experienced is needed.
Students are advised to dress comfortably in attire that allows you to stretch freely e.g tank tops and dance pants. No shoes are required. Please drink plenty of water before the class.
