Salsa Basic 1 Class
You’ll be learning the basic building blocks of Cross Body Lead style of Salsa dancing. From the basic step to simple right and left turns to Cross Body lead turns. We’ll also initiate you into the wonderful world of social dancing beyond a class setting so that you’ll be able to dance with anyone in the club.
Salsa Basic 2 Class
Musicality
You will learn musicality and how to catch the rhythm of the music.
Turn Patterns
You will learn simple variations of your basic turn patterns which include Drop catches, Side breaks, Hammer Locks, Cross Body Lead Right Turns and leading of left turns. Most importantly, you will learn how to mix and match them to add variations to your turn patterns.Ladies will learn how to interpret leads without anticipation, while men will learn the techniques of leading moves with clarity.
Shines
You will get a basic introduction to shines, so that you won’t be caught unaware on the dance floor. Shines are a solo version of salsa. You will learn taps, fast points, simple right and left cross-overs.
Salsa Pre-Intermediate 1 Class
Turn Patterns
You will start learning more variation in your turn patterns, which will include blocks, hand flicks, adios and simple tunnels. The emphasis will still be on learning sound lead-follow techniques.
Shines
You learn more shines such as Suzi Q, grapevines and flairs with basic arm styling for the ladies.
Salsa Pre-Intermediate 2 Class
Here you will take your Salsa up to another level with the introduction of spinning techniques.
Spins
Spinning is a vital component of Salsa and adds a whole lot more fun and variety to your dance as well. Learn different spin techniques for both males and females. Guys will learn the technique of leading a spin and stopping a lady from spinning. Ladies will learn how to prep and maintain their balance for spins.
Turn Patterns
You will learn turn patterns which incorporate spin techniques as well as checks, this will add a whole new dimension to your turn patterns. Ladies will learn how to improve the sensitivity of their following and guys will learn more control in their lead.
Shines
You will continue to be exposed to shines. As you start to learn basic spin techniques, you will be taught to incorporate this into your shines as well.
Salsa Intermediate 1 Class
Turn Patterns
You will be introduced to various intermediate techniques such as Copa, Coke and complex tunnels. This will be incorporated with the spins that you have learnt in the previous level to reinforce your spinning techniques.
Shines
You will start learning more complex shines that make use of syncopation (i.e. using the half beats of the music) and more coordination with your arms.
Body Movements
You will be introduced to basic body isolation techniques to be added to your dancing. Body movements, when used appropriately, can enhance your style and add more variation to your dancing.
Salsa Intermediate 2 Class
Turn Patterns
You will learn more complex turn patterns that will be both challenging for the leader and the follower.
Shines & Body Movements
You will learn how to incorporate your body movements into your shines,. This will be challenging to coordinate at first but with practice, you will look more natural and fluid in your dancing.
Interpretation of music
You will learn how to listen to the music and interpret it while dancing.
